Feasibility of Tea/Tree Intercropping Plantations on Soil Ecological Service Function in China

نویسندگان

چکیده

In order to explore whether tea/tree intercropping plantations have positive effects on soil ecosystem services functions, the possible of cultivation 151 different tea and other species’ setups were summarized analyzed in terms three aspects ecological service functions (supply services, support regulating services). An ArcGIS map was plotted show distribution existing China up June 2021. Furthermore, it concluded that benefits exceeded those monocropping such as water retention capacity, mineral contents, energy transformation, environmental conditions. Intercropping more sustainable than regular because degrees variability all mentioned above. However, tree often require careful planning preliminary experimentation determine type will impacts, especially long term.

Managing soil fertility in eucalypt plantations in China

More than 1.5 M ha of eucalypt plantations have been established in south China, increasing by about 100,000 ha y. Productivity is uneven and low, only about 25-50% of the world average for eucalypt plantations. Most land available for eucalypts are degraded oxisols and utilsols which also are acidic, highly leached and deeply weathered. Phosphorus deficiency is very severe and its availability...

Impact of nitrogen fertilization on soil–Atmosphere greenhouse gas exchanges in eucalypt plantations with different soil characteristics in southern China

Nitrogen (N) fertilization is necessary to sustain productivity in eucalypt plantations, but it can increase the risk of greenhouse gas emissions. However, the response of soil greenhouse gas emissions to N fertilization might be influenced by soil characteristics, which is of great significance for accurately assessing greenhouse gas budgets and scientific fertilization in plantations. We cond...

Rising soil temperature in China and its potential ecological impact

Global warming influences a series of ecological processes and ecosystems' stability. Although comprehensive studies have been done to investigate responses of various ecosystem processes to rising air temperatures, less is known about changes in soil temperatures and their impact on below-ground processes, particularly in deep layers. Herein, we used 50 y of temperature data (1962-2011) from 3...
